Come; know about the history of this palace. There was a specific reason behind the construction of the Jalmahal, which few people are aware of, when the famine occurred in the region in the 15th century, the ruler of Amer decided to build a dam so that the water coming out of the mountains of Amer and Amagarh could be collected. For the drainage of water, 3 inner doors were built underwater and Mansagar lake was prepared.

This palace situated in the middle of Lake Mansagar on the Amber road of Jaipur was built by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh after his Ashwamedha Yagna for bathing with his queens and pandits. Before the construction of this palace, Jaisingh constructed a dam on the gestational river for the water supply of Jaipur and constructed the Mansagar lake. It was built in 1799. For this construction, the help of Rajput style boats was taken. The king used this palace to spend special time with his queen. They also used it on royal festivals.

Architecture:

The beauty of this lake was the centre of attraction of the kings of that time and the king often used to visit it in a boat, King Sawai Jai Singh decided to build a palace in the middle of the lake so that he along with his queen and pandits after Ashwamedha Yagya Shahi could take a bath in the middle of the lake. The Jalmahal, which narrates its story in the middle of the lake, is a five-storey building with 4 floors built underwater and one is seen above water.

How to reach: Many interstate buses ply from Delhi to Jaipur. Apart from this, you will get a train to Jaipur from every state. You can also go to Jaipur by your car.

When to go: November to February is the best time to visit Jaipur.
