Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary

Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary-:

The wildlife sanctuary is rich in biodiversity which attracts many of the tourists towards itself the century is one of the oldest part of the beautiful hill station and it was built in 1960 to preserve flora and fauna of the entire region and is also known as an important eco-tourism spot which is the perfect place to witness the best wildlife sanctuary in Rajasthan. It is spread across a distance of 288 km, it crosses numerous mountains which heights from 300m to 1722 m at Gurushikhar which is the highest peak in the beautiful Aravalli ranges. The beautiful wildlife sanctuary includes igneous rocks. The nature lovers and the animal would find it the best soothing place.

The Hill station is very rich in biodiversity which comprises thorn forest in the foothills and also has evergreen forest which is present across the valleys and the rivers it also has herbal medicinal plants. There are in total 81 species of trees,89 species of shrubs, 17 species of the tuberous plants and 28 species of climbers. The variety of Orchids also attracts tourists.

Fauna-:

The wildlife sanctuary has the most endangered species of Hyena and Jackals. Evidence of lions is also found in the Sanctuary. The wildlife sanctuary has many other animals such as Jungle cat, hyena, Jackal, common langur, Wild boar, common mongoose, hedgehog and Indian fox. It has a perfect environment for sloth bears. There are more than 250 species of birds in the sanctuary.

Best time to visit-:

The best time to visit the Wildlife Sanctuary is during the months between October and March. As the time required to take a tour of the entire century is from 3 to 4 hours there is no entry fee for the sanctuary but the Jeep Safari takes 300 rupees onwards.

How to reach the Sanctuary-:

Mount Abu is a very famous place as there is no problem of local transportation in the city so you can hire a cab or a car to reach the rising wildlife sanctuary from any part of the beautiful hill station.

Places to visit nearby-:

Guru Shikhar -: It is the highest peak at the height of 5676 feet and is also one of the best places to visit in Mount Abu. It is located at a distance of 5.8  km away from the Mount Abu wildlife sanctuary. The peak is famous for its natural beauty and the temple of Dattatreya. There is no entry fee to the temple. The visiting hours are from 8 am to 6pm.
